Korie Kahn

Korie’s approach is defined by her commitment to the individual journey of every learner she serves. She believes that the most effective instruction occurs when a teacher looks beyond a diagnosis to see the person behind it. Above all else, focusing on the unique strengths, challenges, and personal growth of each student remains the heart of her professional mission.

Mrs. Kahn is a highly qualified educator dedicated to providing transformative literacy support through the Orton-Gillingham approach. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Education from Kennesaw State University and a Master’s degree from Georgia State University in Multiple and Severe Disabilities, with a specialized focus on autism and a formal reading endorsement. As a certified K-12 teacher with extensive experience in public school settings – including leading self-contained classrooms – Mrs. Kahn possesses a deep understanding of the diverse cognitive and behavioral needs of her students.

At Fresh Start, Mrs. Kahn leverages her background in multisensory, systematic instruction to help students overcome the challenges associated with specific learning disabilities. By combining her expertise in English education with her advanced training in complex disabilities, she creates a structured yet flexible learning environment where every child can build confidence and foundational skills. Whether working with students who have dyslexia, autism, or other learning differences, her instruction is rooted in evidence-based practices designed to produce measurable progress.

Mrs. Kahn also offers private tutoring for K-12 students struggling with reading, writing, math, and other academic areas. She is trained in both the Orton-Gillingham and Wilson reading methodologies and provides comprehensive support for students with dyslexia and other learning disabilities. In addition to academics, Mrs. Kahn focuses on building executive functioning skills to help students develop the structure they need to succeed in and out of the classroom.

Tutoring is available through individual sessions or through our Dyslexia Program (Level 1 – three months; Level 2 – six months). Sessions are held at our Canton office or virtually. For pricing information or to set up an intake appointment, email [email protected].
